Aveda Scalp Benefits Ingredients
Aveda Scalp Benefits contains a three main all-natural blend of herbs, vegetables, and flowers namely:
It is a native vegetable root that can nourish the keratin structure of your hair, hair follicles, and hair root. It can eliminate dandruff and other particle build-ups. An effective stimulator for hair growth, it can be used for hair loss issues. Rich in phytosterols, polyphenols, and antioxidants, making it a good anti-inflammatory vegetable. This can also be used for hair fall prevention.
Also known as Coneflower, this flowering perennial enhances blood circulation and gives a boost of strength to your hair follicles and hair root, preventing it from shedding. You can mix echinacea tincture with other essential oils such as aloe vera gel and tea tree oil to achieve moisturized, shiny hair.
This herb is a staple in many households for cooking and cleaning. It’s also good for the hair; to moisturize, tame frizzy hair, improve hair growth, and promote clean and healthy hair. The beta-sitosterol, a 5-alpha reductase compound available on the component is also found to remedy hair loss and boost hair regrowth.

Aveda utilizes pure wind and solar product packaging manufacturing, with the use of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. They are the first hair brand to create 100% post-consumer PET recycled packaging. With this, the production of more than 85% of their skincare and hair styling PET bottles & jars contains 100% Post-Consumer Recycled plastic.
A post-consumer plastic is recycled plastic that was made from another plastic. The previous plastic prior to recycling was discarded, gathered up, cleaned, and then reprocessed to create a new, clean plastic. I love that this product comes in 1 L so you will be saving costs and plastic production. Product-wise, the quality of the formulation goes beyond our imagination, as it delivers soft, shiny, and superb hair health every after wash. Both the shampoo and conditioner match perfectly to give you a new hair reborn with natural ingredients utilized.
What I Don’t Like About Aveda Scalp Benefits
There are ingredients in Aveda Scalp Benefits that are synthetic though it’s just a minimal amount. I know that the product is marketed as a 100% vegan product but there are some base substances that not natural. At best, I can say that hair care is 90% naturally derived on average using the ISO standard.
Also, I can say that the price range is quite higher than most natural hair care products. The competition is tight but Aveda is catching up in profits despite the price.

Why Your Hair Products Should Be Organic
Plant-based hair care products should be your standard as well as everyones. Here are good reasons why you should evaluate your current hair product and switch to a natural one:
When a product is 100% natural, it is free from chemicals that can wreak havoc on your hair. Using aggravating shampoos containing a lot of chemicals like parabens can cause potential hair damage. Other harmful ingredients that can be found in commercial shampoos that are dangerous for the hair are sulfates, high levels of sodium chloride (salt), formaldehyde, alcohol, and other synthetic fragrances.
Contrary to chemical ingredients, plant-based derivatives are safe, non-toxic, and effective. Most commercial and chemically-based products promise immediate results but in reality, they can make your hair worse. The high levels of chemicals found in your inorganic hair shampoo or conditioner can produce dry, frizzy hair. Some would even cause itching, burns, and dandruff/oil build-up.
If you want to remove suspended dandruff naturally, you can use an organic shampoo and a dandruff comb. Check out our dandruff comb article here.

The production of non-natural hair products requires also required the production and formulation of harsh chemicals. The waste materials from shampoo and conditioner manufacturing factories are discarded into the sea and other bodies of water. Additionally, the packaging used to contain the shampoo and conditioner in popular commercial products are made of harmful plastic components. Most organic hair brands make their packaging non-toxic with the help of safe plastics like food-grade Polyethylene terephthalate (PETE or PET).
Fit & safe for all hair types
This might not true for all products but some hair types work well with chemical hair products, but not all of them are safe to use long-term. A few of the commercial hair products available on the market contain formaldehyde, a dangerous carcinogen that can penetrate the layers of the skin. It may come in other names such as the formaldehyde-releaser called quaternium-15. Other ingredients such as alcohol can cause significant drying of hair. However, when you choose all-natural hair care products such as pure extracted ingredients, you can benefit from it long-term as it is suitable for all hair types and can be used to remedy hair issues like hair loss.
